My name is Natalie. Most of my friends call me Nat. I play violin, fiddle, mandolin, a few chords on the guitar, a forward and backward roll on the banjo, and I sing (or at least I try).
I am 100% country. I even have a shirt that says “Country till the day I die”. I have shown eight species of livestock animals in 4-H Supreme Showmanship. A few years ago we, Kat and my parents and myself, moved to the city (uuggh), so I am unable to continue showing animals for now. I am a nine-year member of the 4-H program.
I have still been very busy since we moved to Avon, however. I am active in 4-H, in my church, and in the Hendricks Symphony Orchestra, on top of traveling and performing with my sister as half of The Grimes Girls music duo. I was also blessed to be named Avon’s Junior Miss for 2009-2010! Junior Miss is a terrific scholarship program for high school girls, which has its emphasis on education.
A lot of people ask if I have a temper because of my red hair. For the last time NOOO!!!!! MY WORD PEOPLE, JUST BECAUSE I HAVE RED HAIR DOESN’T’ MEAN I JUST BLOW UP ALL OF A SUDDEN!!!!!
No, just joking. I do have somewhat of a temper, but I try my best to keep it in check. After all, I have a witness to maintain. My first and foremost objective in life is to be sure that people know that I am a Christian first, a daughter-sister-granddaughter-niece…… second, and a musician last. I also hope that people don’t just KNOW me as a Christian, but can see it in the way I act, dress, speak, and even play. I give all the glory to God. He is the one who gave me this talent and He is the one who deserves ALL the credit. Anything and everything I do is because of what He did for me; He came as a babe in a manger, died on the cross for my sins, and rose again three days later. He died for my sins so that I would be able to bring Him glory through my life.
Okay, I should probably stop talking/typing now. I guess I’ll just have to tell you about the frog necklaces later. (Although most of you who grew up with me or know me very well already know that little story.) But just as an FYI, if any of you see any dried frogs on the road let me know. I could start my own designer jewelry company!
Thanks for stopping by!!!!! Hope to see or talk to ya’ll soon!!!
